Hi, I am Sarah

a massive romantic

Here are some of the things I love .... romantic comedies - obviously; the sound of my three kids giggling; the night sky; roasting marshmallows on an open fire; the Latin languages; mountains; the glacial blue colour; Italy; fairy lights; snow days; peonies; Mary Poppins (I haven't seen the new one yet); Favourite celebirity couple - Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky; the smell of spring; autumn colours and dancing around the kitchen whilst cooking. I’m based in Gisborne, New Zealand ... I want to tell the story of your wedding, through real, natural, romantic, creative images. No forced smiles, no formal line ups and no cheese of the cringe variety. I LOVE what I do... I’m not just talking moderately enjoy, but all out, borderline inappropriate public displays of affection level, head over heels in love with the job. I hope it shows.

I am a naturally bubbly and energetic person, I just love taking photos - no matter what you have planned on your big day you won't tire me out. I will wear a smile on my face all day and do whatever needs to be done to get the shot that I can picture. Yes is means I might dive into a bush to get some foreground or climb a tree.

The interaction with a bride and groom, family or stunning model is what I love the most. It is always your story so you photos will be unique to you. It is what I prefer, no shot lists, your perfect day unfolds as it happens.

I love the photos that I have displayed on this website, happy, emotive and natural. I offer a few different edits in your personal gallery and I can edit to your prefered colour tone, just show me what you have in mind - I do love to mix it up (I hate to be repetitive). But in general this is me, and what you can expect.

As a Gisborne Tairawhiti Resident I am much more familiar with the area and can go on photo hunts to prepare for the best light for your romantic portraits, much more than an out of town service can.  Shop local - save the planet ;)

I worked in marketing & event management, travelled Europe with a Fiju entry level camera and became obsessed with photography. My boyfriend bought me a ‘proper’ camera as an engagement present (it was my birthday too - we took a trip to iceland - totally recommend the blue lagoon), got married, loved everything about it, took a photography course at Chatsworth House with some of the top UK Portrait photographers and assisted a top UK wedding photographer over the summer of 2010 and then shot MY first wedding in 2011. Moved to Gisborne in 2012 to complete our family of 5 - 2 boys and a girl. They were my main subjects for many years and now it is your turn! If you can't wait to tell me all about your wedding plans, then please DO! Let's talk.

I married my best friend, Tim (a Gisborne Boy) in May 2008 in the UK. We met cycling in the French Alps. We moved from the UK to Gisborne in 2012. We have three energetic children who just love the space out here. We love to explore the beach and countryside with them. I couldn't live without smiles and laughter; I am very friendly and easy to get on with.
